About Us

The choir was formed in 1969, and we have 2 founder members still singing with us, including

the conductor Alfred Tarring.  However, we also have some younger men singing with us, with

a wide selection of gift.  We always try to ensure that our programmes are varied, with items

and music that will suit everyone.

We are affiliated to The Festivals of Male Voice Praise, an organisation of Christian choirs

worldwide, but mostly in the UK.  These choirs are happy to sing in churches, chapels,

retirement homes, prisons…. any list would not be exhaustive!  Each area organises an

annual Festival, and we enjoy singing with other choir men in the Colston Hall, Bristol, The

Brangwyn Hall, Swansea, at Cardiff, Poole, Cheltenham, Truro and further a field.

Our own Festival at Exeter is normally held on the 3rd Saturday in April at Southernhay URC,

Dix’s Field at 6.45pm.  The church is usually packed and we have a great time.
